Try not to hit your fingernails on any surface. It will eventually chip off anyway.

You can remove the visible portions with nail polish remover..the cheapest way. Then you'll need to clean any residue of that out before you use it..but as I said..if there is any possibility that the polish seeped into other areas of the machine..you'll need an appliance repairman to check that out unless you've a real handyman about.Red nail polish in my drier! If the nail polish remover doesn't do the trick, I'd wipe it out with GOOF OFF! Use it liberally because you want to get into the holes in your dryer drum. Soak a White Rag to do this so you can see what kind of progress you're making.
GOOF OFF is a solvent that works wonders on all kinds of oil-base chemicals. After wiping the drum out, I'd then soak a pair of white socks with GOOF OFF and put back in the dryer. Let them dry on a short cycle just to see if the white socks pick up anymore nail polish. Good Luck.

I started using nail polish remover to remove paint from action figures I customize. This works great, however, I never realized how dangerous this stuff is. I poured some in a styrofoam bowl hoping to soak out some paint and it literally dissolved the bowl in seconds. It was literally one of the coolest things I had ever seen. Then I poured some in a plastic cup and in less than a in minute it ate through that. What other destructive purposes can I use nail polish for?

Acetone is very commonly used for cleaning things such as metal. It evaporates very quickly and is highly flammable. It is corrosive enough to eat through soft materials like Styrofoam, but it can be stored in metal containers or the right type of plastic containers.

Hey everyone. I'm a goth rocker (i hate saying goth cuz its a label but... that's what I am i guess) and when i play guitar i have a bad tendency to use my nails AND fingertips. Is there any good way other then using clear coat that would prevent all the chipping? I hate the way it looks and i don't need black paint chips on my strings. This helps to remove any water from the underside of your carpet . Just remember to dry with natural air , also you find that the will have to be wiped again as sooner or later the water mark will come to the surface

Yes, it is perfectly safe and a great way to disguise your unsightly nail as it grows out! I have lost more than my share of toe nails - most typically the smallest ones from 'breaking in' new shoes but from dropping heavy objects on them as well! :) As long as there is no open sore and it's not a fungus that caused it to fall off you should be just fine...I lost my big toenail ..Is it safe to wear nail polish on it while it regrows?
i wouldn't..I've lost 3 toenails over the years and I've let them heal completely before adding any polish...Just be patient...and baby that toe...keep it clean and make sure you don't stub it..Once when I lost a toenail the 1st time, my family went to the beach that wknd and I had to keep my foot out of the sand !! That was horrible..I wanted to get in the water so bad!

i like the nice shine that the clear nail polish gives . I also know that you wear the base coat before putting the colered nail polish on to protect your nails from turning yellow. try submerging it in hot water for a while then tap the top on the edge of a countertop to loosen it

Right now I use the cheaper 99 cent nail polishes from the drugstores, but they always seem to get ruined very easily. I haven't used the Chanel nail polish but I'm sure it works well, but I would stick with OPI just because its more affordable (Chanel is about $19 a bottle which can get pretty pricey if you want to buy more than one color) I know they use OPI at all of the nail and beauty salons I've been to and it stays on really well. It is a bit more expensive than the 99 cent ones but it does last longer and is more durable, plus if you have a beauty supply store nearby they usually have better prices.What is the best brand of nail polish?
It's not the polishes, it's probably the way you are applying them. For me, the $1 polishes last longest because I apply them correctly. You need a good base coat and top coat, and they have to be good quality. Sally Hansen has nice base coats, and try Seche Vite for top coats. Apply polishes in thin layers, letting each layer fully dry before adding the next one (this is one of the most important tips). In this aspect, the $1 polishes did the best, because they apply thinnest and dry fastest.
I use lots of different brands, I just go for a colour I like whatever the make. As I change my nail polish all the time, it doesn't matter to me if it is not particularly long lasting and I always carry the current colour in my handbag for repairs anyway. Right now I have this week's favourite on, Bourjois Fuchsia Provoc.
I have tried every nail polish under the sun from cheap to ridiculously expensive and I still have the best luck with NYC nail polish. Cheap, but it stayed on better than OPI and was so much cheaper.
o.p.i. is the best in my opinion. they are longer lasting and durable. they also have a lot of great colors, shades, and themes.

It's not the polishes, it's probably the way you are applying them. For me, the $1 polishes last longest because I apply them correctly. You need a good base coat and top coat, and they have to be good quality. Sally Hansen has nice base coats, and try Seche Vite for top coats. Apply polishes in thin layers, letting each layer fully dry before adding the next one (this is one of the most important tips). In this aspect, the $1 polishes did the best, because they apply thinnest and dry fastest.
I use lots of different brands, I just go for a colour I like whatever the make. As I change my nail polish all the time, it doesn't matter to me if it is not particularly long lasting and I always carry the current colour in my handbag for repairs anyway. Right now I have this week's favourite on, Bourjois Fuchsia Provoc.
I have tried every nail polish under the sun from cheap to ridiculously expensive and I still have the best luck with NYC nail polish. Cheap, but it stayed on better than OPI and was so much cheaper.
o.p.i. is the best in my opinion. they are longer lasting and durable. they also have a lot of great colors, shades, and themes.

Non acetone nail polish remover should work. Use a cotton ball or Q-tip (nothing with bristles because it will cause the fabric to pill) and dab a little at a time. I did this on my work uniform (made the same) and it worked pretty good. There is a website that will tell you how. You should be able to get it at any drugstore/pharmacy. It's legitimate stuff in that it definitely tastes bad or has a LOT of pepper in it, but in my experience, they just don't work very well. In addition, the kind that have pepper in them can cause a LOT of pain if they come in contact with the eyes, nose, other mucus membranes.

I noticed that my fingernails get smaller and uglier so I decided and tell my self:';Im not gonna bite my nail anymore.'; Just be conscious of yourself, and whenever you feel biting your nail, STOP. Tell yourself to stop. That's it. It's a matter of self-control. And you can do it.

Do whatever you feel like doing. I knew someone who painted 5 fingernails with pale green varnish and the other 5 with light yellow! It looks daring and punky. I like the look of transfers which you apply with water onto your nails, followed by coats of clear varnish! Basically, do your own thing - there are no rules.

I like the look of transfers which you apply with water onto your nails, followed by coats of clear varnish! Basically, do your own thing - there are no rules.
nahh, i don't paint my nails/ toe nails that often and i would hate to have to change the color to match my outfit everyday. and having everything matching might not look so great.
Personally, I don't think this is a majorly big deal. As long as you actually have some polish on your toes, any color is acceptable to me

Not in it but if you are touching your feet, then touching the bottle, it could stay on the lid for awhile. Where Can I Find Krackel Nail Polish?
I am looking for a type of nail polish that you put over your base color coat, and it cracks over top of it when it dries. I cannot find it anywhere, ive looked at wal-mart, and other place that might carry nail polish. Maybe they stopped making it, or selling it im not to sure. take a cool piece of scrap wood....spray paint it the glue the bottle on it (with the part u open out and the bottom of the bottles glued 2 the wood) make a cool design and paint the top circle parts with bright colors and ';volia'; u have a cool piece of art!!

Take a peice of wood, and paint/design the nail polish bottles and/or wood. Supper glue or even hot glue mayeb the nail polish bottles to the wood and hang it on a wall for a coat hanger thing!
You could clean them out really well with antibacterial soap and hot water, and fill them halfway each with homemade lipgloss. The old nail polish brush would work well to put the lipgloss on (you could even cut the bristles in half with scizzors to make application easier).
To make lipgloss - get a tub of petroleum jelly and mix in different things such as glitter, pixi sticks, crushed up eyeshadow for color, old lipstick, etc.

You could always decorate the outside and make really neat miniature vases for artificial flower arrangements. There is glass paint that you create special effects on the outside then make waterproof by baking in the oven. Or you could spice them up with rhinestones or any other little decorations you can find.

A quick at home remedy is to add a TINY splash of nail polish remover. Close the cap onto your polish and roll the bottle in your hands. You're not supposed to shake polish, it causes little lumps.
Test out your polish and if you need it thinner add more until you get it to the right consistency. I suggest using tiny splashes a few times because you can always add more but you can't take it out once it's in there.

so long as you use a good base coat, and a good top coat, what you put on for color doesn't matter unless OPI makes a particular shade you really like. The .99 Wet n Wild will stay just as well. I recomend Orly Bonder Base coat, and Seche Vite Top Coat. Both can be bought at Sally Beauty Supply at reasonable prices. Seche Vite can also be purchased at many salon, but will probably cost you $10.Where can I find the nail polish OPI?
I have purchased OPI at Walgreens in my area. Maybe try calling your local Walgreens to ask if they have it?
I haven't seen OPI at any retail stores. You may try a beauty supply store or if you have a flea market in your area they might have it.

so long as you use a good base coat, and a good top coat, what you put on for color doesn't matter unless OPI makes a particular shade you really like. The .99 Wet n Wild will stay just as well. I recomend Orly Bonder Base coat, and Seche Vite Top Coat. Both can be bought at Sally Beauty Supply at reasonable prices. slightly peach tinted clear nail polish or for evening wear some kind of sparkly wine color... that is unless your nails are all chewed or torn to bits then I would reccommend a French Manicure or small acrylic nails with the above mentioned nail polishes

Sexy and feminine are two different things! Sexy is a ruby red, and feminine is a light pink. Either is cute.
A burgundy type of colour is my preference / or clearview shiney polish if you have real nicely manicured nails to show off
I think pink just looks girly and predictable.
I think unique colours look best. Especially dark colours.

Should I coat my earring posts with clear nail polish to prevent them from rusting?
Someone suggested this as a way to prevent sterling silver or other cheap-metal jewelry from rusting and changing color.
It sounds like a good idea, but I'm just worried - can the nail polish chip or flake off and get stuck inside my skin?
Has anyone tried this before, and if so, how did it work out for you?

Yes, the nail polish can chip and wear off inside your ear and cause an infection. If you keep your sterling silver stored in a plastic bag it will not tarnish. Stainless steel earrings never tarnish and gold is always good.
It's perfectly fine to do that. I use it on ALL of my earrings because I am severely allergic to metal and it keeps me from having awful reactions to them. I've never had a problem doing it.
Don't do it, just buy better jewelry. You may have a reaction to the nailpolish!

If you don't want it to stain ur nails, but r scared that it will... put clear nail polish on your nails first, it will be an extra layer between ur nail the the dark blue polish so it won't stain
