Why does nail polish last longer on toenails?

I'm sure we've all noticed this...we can do our fingernails (natural nails) %26amp; toes the same time and within a few days the polish is pretty much worn off of our fingernails, but the polish on our toenails can last for months? Why? You'd think with all of the advances in the world today, someone would be able to make a nail polish be able to last at least a couple weeks on our fingernails! Why does nail polish last longer on toenails?
There is more wear and tear on your hands than your feet. You use your hands for everything. The feet not so much. Why does nail polish last longer on toenails?
becuase you use your toes less often. think about it. you use your hands all the time, your fingers, your nails even...even putting on moistrizer does it. though we dont specifically make contact to our finger nails with everything we wash our hands a lot (i hope) and are constantly using our hands. this is probably one possible reason :)
mine stays on my toes longer because I don't type with my toes...

Typing will mess up a manicure every time...
I don't type or file with my toes...find it hard to do dishes with them too.
Because we use our hands everyday.
because our feet aren't in as much water as much as our hands are
Nail polish could be made to last longer, however for proper hygiene and health, nails have to breath. Which is why the fake ones aren't good for long periods of time.
I think it is because you use your hands for so much more pluse wearing shoes helps to protect them. but your hands you do dishs, working, cleaning, and more
Your toes are covered up most of the time so nothing can chip or damage your nails. by using your hands everyday you damage your nails and chip off the polish.
Toenail polish lasts for many weeks even when barefoot; just don't bump your toes into stuff too often :) The nail polish on our hands gets chipped when we scratch or bump into anything with our nails, even lightly from typing. All these tiny little shocks/bumps to our nails causes it to flake off.
B/c you don't use your feet to write, type, clean, wash dishes etc.
