Mind over matter... this is really hard of course. It is especially hard because nail biting has become such a habit for you. I stopped biting my nails (mostly) a few years back and below are my tips (note- some are more girl friendly):
Always carry a nale file or clipper with you. This way when a nail breaks, gets snagged, ragged looking, etc. you have a way to deal with it immediately without resorting to chewing at it.
Chew gum or bring some type of small food item with you everywhere to munch on when you get the urge to bite your nails (grapes, raisins, nuts, carrot sticks, peppermint candy if you must). It is likely that you have an oral fixation and while it is not good to trade one addiction/ bad habit for another having something there to curb your impulse to bite your nails can help. Always having a water bottle with you also helps.
Try to reduce your stress levels. Work on time management skills, take a walk every day to calm yourself down- whatever works for you. The less stressed you are the easier it will be to quit biting your nails.
Take care to keep your nails manicured and neat. The better your nails look, the less likely you are to bite them.
I hope this helps.Anti-infected nails want to stop nail biting. without using something bitter or nail polish?
Think of how perfect they will look if you stop.
