Why does nail polish slide off of the brush, but not your nails?

I'm bored and I got curious. =PWhy does nail polish slide off of the brush, but not your nails?
the polish is wet inside the container and when applied to ur nails it is also wet. but it driesWhy does nail polish slide off of the brush, but not your nails?
Nails give it something to adhere to. The brush is merely there for the application of the polish. Just like a paintbrush works for paint on walls or the outside of a home. And yes, it still sticks to the brush. Most of it ends up on your nail though.
